This week has been nothing short of amazing! We have 2 investigators that have committed to baptismal dates! Their names are Eva Key and Tita Lawrence and are both Filipino and both set for October 15th, 2016!
Eva Key gave up coffee and wine this week as part of one of our lessons. She went through her kitchen with us and threw away 20 pounds of coffee and 3 bottles of wine! Its amazing to see how people will hear the word of God and trust it enough on the spot to make major changes. She has a strong desire to come closer to God and Christ because her daughter was recently baptized and sets such a happy example for her!
We are finding a lot of people who are interested in hearing more about our message! This week we picked up 6 potential investigators. Some are family and some are individuals. It amazing to see how when we are willing to open our mouths and share the message of Christ, so many people are willing to listen!
This week has reminded me of a scripture in Romans 1:16 which states, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.”
As missionaries its our purpose to share the gospel with everyone, but it doesn’t make it any less scary than before. Sometimes we feel that we might be rejected or get a door slammed in our face or ignored; but that shouldn’t stop us from trying. I am not ashamed of my call as a missionary and I am not ashamed to be a follower of Christ. The world needs people that aren’t ashamed of who they are and what they believe. Don’t be afraid to share your belief with someone today, 100 might not listen but 1 might have their live changed forever.
I love being a missionary and know that I am here in California for a reason. That reason is to share the message of Jesus Christ and make the world a little bit more ready each day till he comes again.
